A. Introduction

1. Scorched Canyon Background

1) Preparation for revenge

As Peria, which they had barely escaped, became a battleground, some of the surviving Kanturians fled from Peria and wandered through Tarkan again.  To avoid Kundun's army and monsters, they settled deep in the Scorched Canyon, a dry canyon on the border of Kantur, and created the Kantur Slum.  They sent letters to their ally Arca to inform them of their situation and began preparing to take revenge on Kundun's army.

The north was occupied by Kundun's forces, and the south was teeming with monsters from Tarkan, making this settlement extremely barren.
Only the main facilities for research and training soldiers could be built in wooden huts, and people had to live in tents.

In order to counter Lemuria, the research institute borrowed the magic of Arca and conducted research to turn ordinary humans into magicians.
The adult women of Cantur accepted this power and began training to master magic.

Adult males begin training to become warriors to protect the wizard and assassins to covertly eliminate Kundun's main subordinates.

2) The soul stolen by Lemuria

It seemed like the plan to take revenge on Kundun was going smoothly, but in the harsh environment, the Kantur people became exhausted, and  as theft of food and fighting became more frequent, people began to cry out for surrender to Kundun, and  these voices grew uncontrollably,  forming a large force, and the plan to take revenge on Kundun's army began to falter.

The forces calling for surrender to Kundun included a large number of disgruntled wizards and warrior-assassins who were forced to train while being poorly fed, and  the Kantur people who cried out that they could no longer survive in such a harsh land.

They sneaked out on the night of the full moon and moved north to Kundun's forces, carrying torn banners symbolizing surrender. However,  soon after, the commander of the Lemurian legions under Kundun appeared before them as if he had anticipated this, and  the people stood on guard in a tense state while the representative of the force conveyed their intention to surrender to Lemuria.

However, the Lemurian commander took their souls, promising them eternal rest, and  injected the power of Kundun into their bodies, reborn them as his subordinates, while also shackling their hands so that they could only obey the Lemurian commander's orders.
Lemuria orders these poor Kanturians, who have lost their souls and become servants of Lemuria, to attack the Kantur slums.

The Kantur people who remained in the Kantur Slums were helpless against the Kantur people who had been strengthened by the power of Kundun, and not only  the Kantur Slums but also the Scorched Canyon were reduced to ruins, and they fled along the canyon to the coast near Atlas.  At that moment, five huge ships that seemed to be reinforcements from the ally Arca arrived on the coast,  but they had already been scorched by the Lemurian army, and only the five ships arrived in ruins filled with the corpses of Arca people.

The surviving Kanturians have lost all hope and are in despair, and  the heroes of the continent of Mu prepare for battle in Scorched Canyon to gather the poor souls wandering there.
